Post WWII Van Norman #12 Ram Type Milling Machine. We now have an ex-British Aerospace Van Norman #12 Milling Machine at the garage.

The Milling Machine dates back to the 50's, where it was manufactured by Van Norman in the U.S.

Post WWII Britain was almost bankrupt - all of our money had gone into war efforts. In an effort to get back on our feet, we swapped technology instead of currency with the U.S. for manufacturing and engineering capabilities. This milling machine is part of the exhange program with the U.S. and was supplied to us because of technology we supplied to the U.S.

It's a great piece of kit, weighs approximately 850Kg, and is extremely well made. It feels nicely looked after as the previous owner (of twelve years) was a time-served engineer for British Aerospace, and the only other owner was B-A.
